Cha-Am is a quiet beach resort on the west coast of the Gulf of Siam, ideal for a relaxed seaside vacation. It is about 180 km southwest of Bangkok and can be reached in 3 to 4 hours. Many local families also come here on weekends to enjoy the area. Thanks to its mild climate and a rainy season that is less intense than in other regions, Cha-Am is a year-round destination. The resort offers fine, wide beaches, though the water near the shore is not always clear and jellyfish can sometimes be present. In town, rustic local restaurants serve fresh seafood and classic Thai dishes, and there are small shops and supermarkets for everyday needs.
